To love and create ... that's the meaning of life! |
This is a Swedish website. Here is a short summary in English:
I was born 1951 in a small village called Kusmark outside the city Skellefteå, county of Västerbotten, in the northern part of Sweden. My parents were farmers, but my father also worked at a factory. My mother stayed at home and took care of my brother, my five sisters, and me. And - of cause - the animals.
The little child is me, held by my father, my first Christmas.
After school I tried, just like my father, to work at a factory (and in different shops), but this was not for me, so instead I became a journalist. 1974, at the age of 22, I mowed to Malå in Lapland, also in the northern part of Sweden, but far from the coast. I still live here.
I have been writing since I was a child. I started with drawings and wrote small "books", just for fun, but all the time I carried the dream.
I got my first novel published 1981 when I became one of the winners in a big novel-competition, arranged by a book club in Sweden (Bra Böcker/Good Books). The novel "Långa lappflickan" (The Lapland giantess) - based on a true story - was published in a great number of copies and since then I have written many novels, some documentary books, plays for theater and articles. A new version of "The Lapland giantess" was published 2011.
I often travel around to perform and meet my readers and some of my books have been sent as serial stories in the Swedish radio, for example "Polykarpus dröm" (Polykarp´s dream).
My novels are often stories about "outcast-people", maybe because I felt like an outcast myself as a child. Other novels are based on the Swedish or local history, for example Spanskans år (Year of the Spanish flu), a novel about the great disaster who was spread all over the world during some years after the first world war.
The books are only published in Swedish, but you can see some of them here:

I have always been found of music, also an important part of my writing. As a teenager I was a singer in a rock band (just amateurs), and even today - more than 30 years later - I sometimes come together with good friends, just to sing and play for fun. Just can´t live without it!

Polykarpus, the dreamer, singer and outcast; central person in my book Polykarp´s dream, has found the meaning of life:
To love and create! |
Maybe I'm a little bit like him? I don't know...
But this I know for sure:
I love to create! I love to sing! I have to look at the stars ...
And I really must say:
Isn't it marvelous!
